Sonic was court ordered to be put down by a judge in California when the Cesar Millan Foundation stepped in and took the large pit bull in for Cesar Millan to work with. After quite some time at the Dog Psychology Center with Cesar Millan, Paws for Veterans came forward and offered to take on Sonic for their program. There was something in his eyes that called to us. Paws for Veterans flew their CEO and lead trainer, Crystal Callahan Ayala out to the Dog Psychology Center to pick up Sonic and spend the week with Cesar. We then brought him back to Florida and he has been living with our CEO for the last 6 months while we have been training him and accepting applications from interested veterans. After a long search, Sonic and Ray seem to be a match made in heaven. Sonic and Ray took to each other almost immediately.
We are now in need of your help. We are raising money for this service dog team to cover the costs of food, supplies, vet care, toys, treats, vest, flea and tick prevention, etc. We don't want this team to have anything to worry about from here on out. They have both had a long road and we want to make the rest of their lives as smooth as possible. Paws for Veterans is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that receives no government funding and relies solely on the generous contributions of the public to serve our nation’s combat injured heroes and local shelter dogs.
About Paws for Veterans
Paws for Veterans is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. We provide our nations combat injured Heroes that suffer with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and affiliated physical disabilities with task trained medical service dogs as well as supplies, therapeutic group sessions, and natural treatment alternatives. Our program delivers an all-around lifelong support system focusing on a more natural alternative to healing our Veterans bodies and minds while at the same saving the lives of shelter dogs that would otherwise be facing euthanasia.
