Memorial Day Open House

Monday, May 28th 2018: 12pm to 4pm

Don't try to get through Memorial Day on your own this year! Come join us at Paws for Veterans for an open house that is open to all Veterans that could use some camaraderie, other veterans to talk to, information on obtaining a service dog for yourself, information on other resources in our area that may be beneficial to you and much more.

We will provide a small cookout and you are welcome to bring a dish to pass if you'd like but is not necessary. You can come and meet some of our service dogs, service dogs in training and other animals that we use in our program for therapy purposes and training purposes for our service dogs.

Please do not try to get through Memorial Day on your own or alone this year. We are opening our facility that day specifically for you as we know how difficult this day can be to many of you as it is for us at Paws for Veterans but our staff of Veterans want to spend our Memorial Day helping other veterans, like ourselves. We are here for you this year to try to make your Memorial Day a little bit easier on you and give you some hope and something positive that day.

Please take us up on our offer and come join us and spend the day with other Veterans just like yourself that are just trying to get through the day to the best of our ability. Let's all come together to remember the Fallen and help each other through this difficult day.

Junior Dog Trainer Summer Camp

Bring your own dog friendly dog, or learn with ours. Kids will be separated into separate age groups. Each group will be taught by one of our certified professional service dog trainers. Kids will learn everything from age appropriate dog training skills such as: how to teach dogs to sit, lay down, come, stay, walk on a leash, bring and drop items and toys, tricks, fun games to play with dogs and much more, how to redirect negative behaviors such as: jumping, chewing, digging, mouthing, excess barking and more, how to properly interact with unfamiliar dogs, dog safety, dog care, afternoon water play with the dogs and for the kids, rock painting, play dough paw prints, and much more. Friday afternoon at 12:00 we will have a demonstration show for the kids to proudly show their parents what all they learned.

Please send your child with a lunch, water bottle and snack. 100% of proceeds benefit Paws for Veterans. Camp is help Monday through Friday 10am to 3pm. Link to register will be loaded here shortly. We had such a successful camp last year, the kids loved it and the parents asked for more dates, so.....we offered more dates this year. 3 different weeks to choose from or do all three.

We must receive your dogs shot records and proof of spay/neuter before camp. This will speed up the check in process on Monday. All parents must check in and out their children for safety reasons.

Required shots:
All dogs must be on flea and tick medication. We will check every dog for fleas before entry. Bringing an aggressive dog or a dog with fleas or not the proper shots, or that isn't fixes, will be turned away with no refund. Sorry but this is for everyone's safety. We want everyone to enjoy camp.
